Question changing linkage

how easy is it to change the central locking linkage ?

ie the plastic rod which connetcs from the unit to the door handle,
mine's snapped.

It's relatively easy. You have to pull the door trim panel off as the outer door handle on central locking cars won't always pull out enough because of the microswitch wiring. It is worth trying to remove the outer handle before taking the door tirm off. Unscrew the Phillips screw that holds the handle and pull it rearwards, the handle with then come away from the door. Be very careful not to damage the switch wiring.
If it comes out enough you can then change the plastic link, put it back together and then test the system. Always lube the outer door handle linkage before refitting.

If you have the optional speaker system at the base of the door it just takes more time. Replace the broken part and then test it all before putting the trim back.
