Post Spoiler removal

Is it hard to remove the spoiler on a 924s? I have a guy lined up to tint my windows but he won't do it with the spoiler installed. He says that the heat gun may melt it when fitting the tint on the outside of the window. Is the spoiler only held on by screws? Will it still look as good once removed and than reinstalled? Also, he said the the interior door panels need to come off the tint the door windows? Is thin info accurate? BTW...cost for the tint will be $139 for all if I remove door panels and spoiler. This shop has already tinted the windows in my 2000 Focus ZTS and it looks great.

On a side note. Has anyone put a 944 spoiler on a 924s? Does it look good?

I don't know about the spoiler (although I've heard a 924 owner installed a 944 hatch/spoiler and liked it). The door panels are fairly easy to pop off. The Haynes manual covers it well, but if the reason is possible heat damage due to the tint work, you'll have to remove the plastic sheet seal inside the door panel as well.

I threw together a few pics of my ex 924 (now my dad's). It has a 944 spoiler.

The tint should be applied to the inside of the rear windshield. Why is he applying it to the outside?

Jason,
I have a 944 spoiler on my car ( '81, 924 ) and it is held on with only 4 bolts BUT it can be difficult to realign when you put it back on.
However, I have the same question, since the tint goes on the inside of the window, why does he need the spoiler off ???? This does not make sense..

When a window is tinted the pattern for the window is made on the outside of the window, then applied to the inside.
