My rattle is still around. I have put a new 3" Cat bypass on the car, replaced the O2 sensor and checked all the heatshields. Nothing has helped. (Except for the bypass in the horsepower department. hehe)
There is one pipe that was not replaced. It is the one that comes right off the turbo and then attaches to the downpipe. It is only about 10 inches long. A tech at one of the local Porsche dealers told me that this pipe is a double-wall pipe like the downpipe and he thinks it is coming from there. Problem is that I can find the part in the parts diagrams of the exhaust but can't find a part number. Questions- Has anyone experienced this problem? Has anyone experienced the replacement? Does anyone have the part number that I am looking for? Thanks. -g ------------------ Geoff Baltz '86 944 Turbo http://www.ninefiveone.com [This message has been edited by geoffbaltz (edited 06-13-2001).] [This message has been edited by geoffbaltz (edited 06-13-2001).] |

Had the problem on my car - it was the heat shield - I had to bend it in order to prevent the rattle. I had it easier though as I have a 2.5" downpipe.
