Electric-oil pressure trouble

My gauge never worked. Always went to max when key on. (even when disconneted). I installed new sending unit and it worked for about thirty seconds. I'll check fuses tonite. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Short?
I think when the sender fails and causes the full up thing, it is an internal short... check all the wires/etc...

85.5 944na..Had the problem of indicator pegging at 5-bars with ignition on. Replaced the wiring from just below the AFM under air inlet duct, down to the oil pressure sending unit..problem solved. The wiring was shorting inside the conduit.

Ok Cebu, that sounds about right. Brad too. The valves had all been replaced so I wonder if the short could be up under the intake. But like you say Cebu, my wires going to the sender are looking tired. They are wrapped in black tape saturated with oil. THANKS!
