Well, the Lindsey's finally put the prices for their MAF kit on their web page. The stage 1 unit is $1150 and the stage 2 unit is $1400. A little disappointing, since I had heard $900 and $1150 before, but still cheaper than the others.
Their setup has a VAT sensor in with the regular sensor wire, so it is supposed to be better/more responsive. I was going to buy one right away, but now I think I'll wait for other people's impressions. Anyway, I was impatient and bought a used Autothority unit last week. :< If you buy one of the Lindsey units, post your impressions as soon as you can. |

I called them a month ago and they told me that the kits would be $900 and $1100 each. For $1400 (I don't want the stock boot and tube), I would rather spend the extra $200 and get a huntley unit that lets you adjust your a/f ratios with a multi-range electronic fuel controller or the autothority unit that at least comes with software instead of the lindsey racing "2 screw" method, which sounds an awful lot like adjusting the mixture screws on a carburator.
You know what though, there are about 15000 or so 951's in the US...how many MAF kits do each one of the four major manufacturers of them plan to sell? I don't see how there can be so much competition in such a (relatively) small marketplace, but hey, its good for me...drives prices down. Autothority probably used to make $1700 on each of their $2000 MAF kits, but with the surge of newcomers in the past few years, they have driven their prices down so they only make $1200 on each one. Boohoo for autothority. Anyways, thats what I think of it all. ------------------ ribs, 86' 951 |

i'm thinking the profit margin on these units is high, so it's worth it for them to develop & market the product, even with competition and a limited number car base to sell.
