Me: "Wait, you have a permit AND no insurance?..."
Oh my gawd Porsche people! OH MY GAWD! [said like a valley girl, lol]
Picture this... I'm parked at my friends house, after coming back from the beach. And he was inside showering or doing something weird, and I'm sitting in my driver's seat dancing; because i'm cool, and the radio was on. Then I hear some kid yelling something. He was talking to his friend that was in a car that was behind me; about 10 feet back. So i'm thinking to myself: "Shut up kid, gawd damnit!", because his yelling was interupting my music time. lol. While looking through my passenger side mirror, I see him start walking in my direction. And he starts yelling something at his friend that's still in the car, that was inching towards where I was parked. At this time, the loud mouthed kid was about even with my passenger side door.I look at him, and think to myself: "When will this kid stop tal...?". But before I could finish my thought, my car shook. At first, I thought it was my friend messing around, and shaking my car. But, to my surprise, I looked through my driver's side mirror and see a gray 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL pinned against my car. Looks like this, but gray, and old looking I began to spazm out of control, and shook my fist violently..... Hahaha, no.. I really didn't. But, after he hit me, I got out of the car quite calmly, even though I wanted to attack the guy with my crazy kung fu moves of death. After I stepped out, he put the car in reverse, and backed up roughly 5 feet; and then stopped. I thought he was going to try and run, but he didn't. And I am glad, because that would have been a great chase; him in a Cutlass, and me in my 944. ::sarcastic:: lol. All right, then he gets out of his car, and he looks like he's going to die; he was so scared. This is how the conversation went: Him: "Oh my gawd, I am soooo sorry!" . And sounded exactly like a valley girl. Me: "Do you have your license on you?" Him: [3 sec. pause] "Uhm, I only have my permit." Me: "Ok, well go ahead and pull over to the side, or in the drive way so I can get all your information."[/i] Him: "Ok." [After pulling in the drive way, and after he shuts off the car, I walk over to his passenger side] Him: [repeats] "Oh my gawd, I am soooo sorry!" . Valley girl again. Me: "Go ahead, and give me your permit, and insurance." Him: [pause] Me: "Do you have insurance?" Him: "Uhm, I don't know... See my dad just baught this car for $500 to get around." Me: "Ok... Then go through your glove compartment, and get me anything about the car." Him: "All right." [As he looks through the glove compartment, I begen to write all his information down off of his permit (Name, Lc#, Address,.. ect.)., Then he returns with some papers, and one was an old insurance sheet, that I got all the car details off of. (Make, Model, Year,... ect.] Me: [while writting] "So, you live around here?" Him: "Ya, on Azusa" Me: "Really?"[even though I had his address. lol. All for conversation.] Him: "Ya... So, what's going to happen? I am so scared, I don't know what's going on." Me: [Then I stated the steps of how we can handle it, and since he had no insurance, there was only one route; that being: I get a quote, and he pays for it.] Him: "Ok." Now there's silence for about 5 minutes while I'm writting everything down. After I'm done, He asks "what is he suppost to do now?" I tell him "Go home, and tell your parents exactly what happend." So he leaves, and about 2 minutes later my friend comes outside... And I tell him. He's like: "What the hell?" Then he goes back inside to put on shoes or something... And while he's inside, I see the same car that hit me drive up and park next to me. The guy, that was driving it before, was sitting in the passenger seat, and this girl that I assumed was his sister gets out of the driver's side, and starts giving me an attitude asking: "What happend? Show me what happend." And while she's rambling on about me showing her something, I am thinking to myself: "Who the hell is this? She wasn't here, what does she have to do with this?" So I show her the damage; which is an obvious dent, and she says: "What?!.. That can be buffed out! And look at that, that's already cracked." Refering to my stoneguards. I'm like: "Cracked? You mean the stoneguards? That are made out of plastic? What does me having cracks in my stoneguards have anything to do with him hitting my car, and denting the quater panel?" She then walks to the other side of my car and starts feeling the other side, and says: "There's a bump over on this side too!" - I respond: "A bump?" And at that time, I was getting pretty eritated from her attitude. I go to the other side, and feel where she said there was a bump. There was no bump. So then I say: "Go ahead and look at your front right bumper and the marks and dent on my car match your car." As she goes to look at her car, the guy in the car said: "Man, I am so sorry, I didn't bring her to do anything." Then I said: "No stress man, I understand what's she TRYING to do." At this time, my friend is already outside. Then she tells me that it's her car, and to call her with the quote. And that her brother works at the Toyota dealership, and he works in the body shop area. And my friend says: "Wait, so Toyota has Porsche parts now?" So I got her info, and then they left. But not before stopping my a car that parking about 20 feet behind them, and told them something. So i'm thinking they brought back-up for some reason. Uh oh, were they going to beat me up? lol. So then roughly 30 minutes later, I get a call from the kid who hit me saying: "Man, I am so sorry about that. I didn't want her to do that." Then I asked: "Who the hell was she?" He then told me that it was a friend's older sister. So I ask: "So she's not related to you, and she doesn't own the car?" He then says that I am correct. So I then tell him to call me back once he talks to his parents. And roughly an hour later, he calls back and says: "Ya, I talked to my parents, and they said get an estimate, and we'll pay for it." I was so damn relieved when I heard those words. Later all. Stay safe. Bye. ps. I'll be putting pictures up asap.

I think I would have called the local Police when I found out about the no-insurance thing. With a police report, they have a harder time squirming out of their responsibility. I was a nice guy once and let a girl go that had rear ended my 65 Mustang. She was supposed to have her parents call me and discuss the event, never happened. I finally had to go to her home and prove to her parents that the the red paint on the bumper of their truck was an exact match to my car. Eventually they agreed to pay after she finally confessed.

I agree. If they even flinch when you hand them the estimate, call the one time.

wow thats some good stuff right there. Me being a kid who just got his license (tee hee), i like it when older people are nice like this guy was. I would have told the kid to pay for it and not called the police, and if he didnt pay for it in like 10 days then call the po po's.

I got one estimate. Roughly $750.
Tommarow I am getting another. And since him, and his parents already agreed to pay, there shouldn't be any problem. Well hopefully not. If so, I'll report it. But I believe that the parents know exactly what will happen if i do. Fines, Having to wait till 21 or 25 to get his liscense... ect. Oh and Todwic... What do you mean by: "call the one time." All right.. bye guys.

Either, I think, is applicable.

Yes.. I agree.
But I have support from my parents that have been through this. So, more then likely, things will go well. I'll let you all know how it goes. Thanks for your time. Bye.

What someone hit your car??? Man that sucks. Hopefully it does work out okay. And that kid seemed to do the right thing also by telling you the truth. Much props to you for keeping your cool when the girl was trying to turn everything around. I would have probably lost it.
Now when I see a 944 with a dent I can indentify you. |

If he didn't have insurance, thats a crime. You should have called the police straight away.
What happens next time when he has a serious accident and wrecks someones car and worse injures them, without insurance? He and the victim will be screwed. Mark

Let me describe a little more about these two people....
The kid that hit my car: - Quite effeminate, and was scared like I was the Reaper. And I also have a little respect for him being so truthful, and calling me to apologize for that girl showing up. And finally, I believe since he called back that night, and how he sounded on the phone, that him or his parents wont give me any problems. See, I wrote down all my information, and gave it to him. And on the paper, in big bold letters, read PORSCHE. You know, just so they know. Also, when I spoke with him on the phone last, he said: "I understand that she came out and tried to protect me, and was taking my side... But I know I messed up. And it's my fault." And now for the girl: That's why there was no asking out for drinks. And I have a girl friend. lol. - Manly. end quote. And I believe that she knew what she was doing was wrong; but she was just trying to help out her friend. But my attitude towards her was obvious: That it wasn't going to go her way. So basically, she wasted her time. * And I know a lot have said that I am too nice. But... If I went the route of reporting it i'd have to make a police report. Then it would get to the DMV. Then to my insurance. And it would be half my fault, because I decided to park in that spot. And also, even if it went to court; it would most likey just turn in to a lean against them. Probably never get any money from them, and it would go down on their credit. Plus court costs, and crap. So the route i'm taking, I believe will work out. He made a mistake, and he knew it; and stated it. Later all. Stay safe. Bye. Oh, and then dent itself is not a big dent. Damn camera's not working. As soon as I get some batteries i'll post some pictures.

He messed up when he decided to drive around without insurance.
Everyone makes mistakes when driving now and then, including me, but he's driving without insurance deliberately - which is much worse in my book.

Yes, driving without insurance deliberately. But I doubt he realized that.
Like when I asked if he had insurance... He replied that he didn't know. See, he's a teenager. And the majority of which only care about what they see and what they want. And i bet he only cared about going out with his friends. But now he has a lot more to care about.

Pictures.
Shot close up with a webcam, lol. Funny, because the pictures make it look worse then it actually is. I guess the glare has a little hand in that. All right.. Stay safe all. Bye.
