Wanted Red 944

Fellow 944'ers we are working on a 944 issue for early 2004 with 25 Weekend Projects anyone can do to make their 944 better.

We would like to use a red 944 for the cover of this issue, if you have a red 944 and would like to share it with 32,000 other Porsche fans please drop me an email.

We are looking to our February 2004 issue for the article for the 25 944 projects. Being "Love Is In The Air" we felt a red 944 would be perfect for this cover/date.

What are the projects? Fluffy steering wheel covers? Neon pedals? Testing car fresheners?

What?

I can't think of practical "betterments" that would take less than a weekend.

Sounds like fluff to me.

Weekend projects would include, IMHO:
- Upgrading the stereo
- Thicker sway bars
- General maintenance (brake pads, oil changes...etc)
- and of course: washing and waxing!!

While we owners can think of several "practical" things I just wonder what a Valentine cover project is going to be.

"Installing a Lighted Makeup Mirror for Your Gal"!

"Inflateable Heat Rest That Doesn't Mess Up Her Hair"!

"Install Hydraulic Lifts So Her Skirt Doesn't Catch On the Car".

Fluff.

I would think there would be a need for 101 Things to Do With A Burnt Hood.

SoCal,

I think a lighted make-up mirror for the drivers side visor is a great idea! Can we use your 944 for this SoCal? j/k

No, we will show people simple things they can do to make their 944 better . Like, fixing an inside door pocket, replacing the rear hatch lock assembly, solving ground problems with their battery, even up to replacing tranny mounts to stop all that vibration.

You have to remember our readers go from someone who can just master the task of putting air in their tires to guys who can pull their heads and do a valve job. We try to give everyone something.

And if you haven't seen, a copy of 9 Magazine SoCal email me your mailing address, and I will send you a free copy!

Thanks,

Brian Minson

And you can recycle the articles every two to four years as the readers come and go.

I've never known trans mounts on a 944 to cause vibrations. Engine mounts maybe. Still you need to know what a cross member and oil pan are IF you can find a jack to lift the car.

You are right I have not read a copy of your magazine. With all barbs aside I do understand your position having been involved in many radio controlled aircraft articles in the 70's.

Still the red 944 for Valentines Day is an enticing target!
