Post Clutch adjustment

Hello all,
Sold the 914 and bought an '89 944S2 that I'm bonding with quickly. Wow! Power, torque and really good brakes from the factory! First question (of many, I'm sure, and thanks for any help you can provide):

The clutch engages very high in the pedal travel, and I'd like for it to engage much closer to the floor. Would you adjust the master cylinder linkage, slave-cylinder pushrod (if it's adjustable) or both? Or is this just the sign of a worn clutch?

Thats an indication that the clutch is worn out. Or more specifically the fingers on the pressure plate are extended beyond the normal operating range. You should throw a new clutch at it and be done with it. The later 2.7L are a bit easier then the early 2.5. Not to bad a job just time consuming.

Thanks for your help, guys. Clutch has about 38K on it, and judders a little on engagement. Is this about normal life expectancy?

Could have been a cheap replacement, I pulled a remanufactured out of my brothers 944 that had about 50k on it, but the disc was starting to seperate at the rivits. Someone had not rebuilt it correctly.
