Did AF ever compare the kriket?

I might be nuts, but I searched and searched and I can't find the post I remember, where someone was going to send AF the Kriket to compare with the official Porsche tensioner. Anybody know what the outcome of this was? Or you could just tell me I'm stupid. Whichever floats your boat.

You are not stupid but maybe nuts (like me)

We were to test on my '83

I have PM'd Juvy that I am home this week and next and we can do the test on my car in the garage. I have the Optibelt (Blazak), Juvy has the P-Tool and someone was going to donate a Kriket.

I am still waiting for Juvy to get back to me (we live close). I have the cover off and just waiting.

Rick

The Optibelt is just like the Kriket, differnt manufacturer. If you buy it from Blaszak he etches in marks for the cam and balance belts.

Like I said, we compared it to the porsche tool at 944fest, they both read the exact same. No difference we could see, other than the price.

Sorry folks was all tied up this weekend.

Rick,

give me a call this week - we can do the belts on your car at the same time - My belts are also due for a retension, so we can compare early and late 944 belt styles.

Just bring the car to the shop - no charge.

FWIW, I retensioned my polyrib yesterday and used my krikit to check tension. the tool worked very well. I was able to get consistent results every time. the only thing is that I had no reference to compare the accuracy to. can't wait for you guys to do the test. so far, I really like the tool though

The "Optibelt" is a Krikit. Call Krikit and they will state that they supply that tool to the company overseas that badges it as the "Optibelt."

Get the KR-I. It cost me about $20 including shipping.

you have to ask for the kr-1 at napa, not kriket, and it's just under $10.
