Just a quick little question....
I bought what appears to be the right switch for the hand brake to turn the light on and off....but I only have one wire with one female end and the switch has two male ends...and of course the thing is not operational...it fits and everything...but I do not have the old one to compare it to....am I missing something... brandon,
I believe you have the right switch. It's an updated part, the original only had one pin. Hook the wire up to either pin. That switch is used in three places on the car. they are used as interior light switches on the passenger doors, and for the e-brake warning light. Originaly, in one of the doors there was a two pin switch. The other door and the e-brake had a single pin switch. Somewhere along the line, they stopped producing the single pin switch, because the 2pin switch would work in all three places, and it must have been cheaper to reduce the number of different parts the car was assembled with. To check the circut ground the one wire and see if it turns on the light if so then the switch is not grounding or the E brake light is bad .also it will turn on the big lite over the center of the dash ......Stan |
