Question where shoul my temp gage read

My temp gage reads half way when warmed up is this correct ?

on my 944 it goes to the first mark when warmed up, it goes to half way when driven hard and sometimes a little past in standstill highway traffic.
also i dont think the gauges are super accurate between cars because of dirty grounds/connections.

See the other posts about thermostats. You only have a cooling problem if;
The fans never come on
The engine looses coolant
The engine "smells" hot
With the engine hot, the lower radiator hose is cold
etc, etc
Otherwise, don't worry and make sure all the maintenance is up to date and you have thoroughly checked all the cooling system components.
