need your knowledge on this one

ok... got the new fuel pump and got it in... no power to pump.. by passed it and ran power direct to pump... system will pressurize then over pressure and the pump will cavitate and will not run... unplug it and it will run till there is no pressure and die.. but while running if you reconnect the fuel pump it will pressure up pump will cavitate and the engine will die... the reason i bypassed it is because the is no power going to my fuel pump fuse (dont remember the number but its right across from myu dme relay) ok here is the question... when the DME relay engages does it then give power to the fuse or does power go through the fuse first then to the relay to complete the circuit... also i did all the checks on the alarm system and it still stays on... will that disengage my fuel pump because i have the power plug unplugged from alarm box on the passenger side compartment.. sorry from the long one guys but i have heard yall were the best at tech questions... thanks in advance!!!!!

Goes to the relay and then the fuse.

replace your DME relay

Alarm? Did you say alarm?

One of the two things the alarm does is open the fuel pump circuit to the DME relay. The other is to ground out the tach circuit which just happens to be the same circuit to the coil.

But this could also be the fuel pressure regulator.

so when you turn on the key the pump will not run for a few seconds automatically?

so if the alarm is armed the fuel pump will not work because i cant get the stupid thing to disengage... and the key swith by the driver door is in the vertical position

and how do you disable the factory alarm? i read on a search that one guy just unplugged it completely on his 83.. will that work for an 85.5?
