Question Should I buy this porsche?

I checked it out today. It is a '81 924 w/94k on the OD. The paint is gold, but looks like ****, no real rust, just a bit of surface on the edges. It was taken very well care of by one if the previous owners. It has a new clutch, starter and altenator. IT has a twin tip monza exaust, which looks pretty nice. The bad is that he doesnt have a battery for it, the horn and E-brake dont work. It has a really nice interior. I think I can swing it for ~$650 and have to buy a battery too. It might be worth it, you guys think so?

Sounds good to me. All the problems that you mentioned seemed very minor. For that cheap of price I would dive right in. Does the person have maintence records?

Blackfoot's right...you must drive it; check
the compression; run it up into 5th gear(80+
mph) & see how she handles, feels, sounds.
That p-car will 'blue book' about $1K or less. Watch for smoke & shakes. Does the passenger side floor get wet in rain? G'luck.

And check suspension rust since it's more than twenty years old. I don't trust that old OD. Sounds good for only $650. After that you may want to get a better one. And then more $$$ for more HP. Finally you will find cars burn your money faster than fire. That really fast car means. Just threat you. It's not that bad.

Thanks fot the answers. Well I know the od is right because it just broke on the guy. I will get to drive it as soon as I get a battery to put in it. Everything mech is really good, new suspension. Believe me, I know how cars burn money, my daily ride is an MR2. I think this car will feel good for me, about the same power and weight as my mki mr2. Except I wont have to keep explaining to people where the damn engine is.
