Need an Exploded Diagram of Front Caliper

Anyone got a diagram of the front caliper of an early 944. I forgot where the 1/8" wire (in this shape "{" ) goes on the caliper. Simply stated it is drving me up the wall.

I am assuming....you have all 4 calipers apart......otherwise just check one of the other wheels....

If no one replies...I will scan the page out of the service manuals and email it to you.

Thanks Alex...I dismantled the calipers 9 months ago and can't remember where this piece fits

I am not too sure what part you are talking about, but I believe it is the clip that holds the brake pad wear sensor onto the pad itself.

Alex was good enough to send this scan of the caliper...Call me simple, because that's what I'm calling myself, but how does #6 fit in to the caliper????

wait.. i think i was wrong.. number 3 sits on top of the pads, then #2 (pins) hold 3 down.

Mike B 07-22-2001 10:36 AM

Yup...had that all together but no logical place for #6...Perhaps I,ll take the caliper apart again...Maybe it will come to me

mideastmafia 07-22-2001 10:47 AM

AHHH!!! i got it.. 6 sits on top of 3 and it holds down the brake pad wear sensor inside of it. its fist in the bend in the middle and snaps on top of everything.

Close...I took the caliper off and the wire thing (6) is actually a guide for the moving part of the caliper and sticks into two holes on the back of the fram...Well that's where I'm sticking it on this car...I didn't see the two holes cause I already had the caliper mounted.

Look Mom...No parts left over...

Thanks for your help Shaun http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/lol2.gif

K- doesn't mean anything. I was trying to post a picture. I just emailed it to you instead.
