W I D E R wheels

is it possible to put thinner hubs on to fit wider 15" wheels on our cars? i know porshce has a bulletin about 17" wheels, do they have one about wider wheels? it seems having an extra inch or two of contact would make a difference in the turns.
also does anyone know how much fuch's with or without tires weigh? my main concern is adding weight to the rear wheels. my little N/A doesnt need any weight holding it back, esspecially in the drive train.

I'm not sure why you need a thinner hub. As long as you have the proper offset, the wheels will work.

Right now, my 944 has 9.5" rear wheels on it with no fitment problems.

If you are going to drive the car hard, I prefer the nimble handling of an NA with the same size tire front & rear. It's fun when the rear drifts out, tucking the nose in a bit tighter. With wider tires in the rear, you will get more understeer, which is not as much fun.

But the car LOOKS so cool...

im mainly worried about rubbing if the wheels stick out farterh than stock.
if i went wider in the back i think i would go wider in the front as well. dont want to cahnge the balance of the car, just get some more rubber on the road.
9.5 is nice and wide though. are those 275 tires? which rims do you have?

Any "early offset" Porsche wheel will fit the rear of your '84. Late offsets will fit fine with spacers.

I have three sets of wheels/tires:
-7 & 8 x 15 Fuchs with Yoko street tires.
-7 x 15 Cookie Cutters w/ 225 Hoosiers for the track.
-8 & 9.5 X 17 Fikses that I borrowed off of my 911 for the last DE of the year. I will be putting on new Hoosiers on the Fikse's for autocrossing the 911 next season, and decided to run one more day on the worn out tires.

275s fit fine in the rear of an early 944.
