I've been doing some research, and if I get new rims 16 or 17's there's a lot to choose from. However, I'm sticking with the 15 fone dials for now. Has anyone found any Euro metric tires anywhere? you would know they are euro metric because there is no "P" in front of the tire size 215/60/15. Afew places have told me I need those because the rears are supposed to be at 36 psi. I cannot find any manufacturer with theses tires. I'm thinking of going with the Yokohama AVS Intermediate-there cheap, "V" rated, and they look good. About $76/tire. Tell me what you think--PS--don't tell me to get new rims. Thanks for your support

Boy, are you confused.

The P in front of the tire description stands for "Passenger", as in passenger tire, not Euro metric tire.

I suggest you go over to TireRack's site and read up on tires so you at least have enough knowledge to get into real trouble.

..I ran the 225/60/15 in the rear......for the longest time.....no problems.....just a slight change in overall tire diameter....but it is rather insignificant......shouldn't affect your speedometer at all.....

I finally switched to 17" rims.....and 225 in front and 255 in the back.....ouch.....it handles like night and day....with the 215 on 15 inch rims....it would just slide around the corners........but once I switched to 17....it was a BIG difference....

Kuhmo and Toyo.....are your best bang for your buck......

225/60/15s are a bit taller then stock.

If anybody manufactured a 225/55/15, that would be very close in diameter, but nobody does, so I chose what I believe(d) to be the next best thing, 225/50/15 in the front and 245/50/15 in the rear.

Although I drive my car hard, and will be racing it often (again...) I may stick to the original tire size, 215/60/15. I've tried everything from 255/40/17 to 225/45/17 to 245/50/15 to 215/60/15, etc. etc. Except for the occasional panicky stab at the pedal, there's not that much of a difference in all out grip. If you're not heating up the tires, wider tires will only add weight, make more noise, cost more, increase the chanse of hydroplaning, be less aerodynamic-->fuel efficient, etc. etc. Also, given that everything else is the same, stiffer the sidewall, the less warning you're going to get before the tires break away. 17 inch rims do reduce flex, but make the car much less forgiving, so be carefull.

Yoko AVS' are good tires, just don't expect them to last too long

Ahmet, they do make tires in 225/55/15. I have seen them in the tire rack review at work....I think anyways. I will double check.

The very last time I checked at TireRack, the only tires made in 225/55/15 were competition (makes sense) oriented, or ultra high price ($230+ I think, compared to ~$70 Yoko AVS' that I can use to scare my DE instructor)!
Get back to me anyway though,
Ahmet

uhmmm......my bucks....occassionally go BANG!.....everytime I have a problem with my car......BANG.....another one disappears (well more than one)

no one has had this happen???.....

...uhmmm ....I still think my 255's....keep the rear end where they are supposed to.....that is behind me....LOL.....

The only disadvantage it may be a little bumpier..I didn't actually notice it.....but frankly....I thought the ride would be worse....

Kumho and Toyo are so much cheaper than the others (at this size)......and they are actually pretty good tires......I thought they would maybe wear quicker....but they are holding up pretty good....and they feel much better than BF goodrich T/A that were on the car.......
