Oil Pressure Jumps

my oil pressure used to always stay at around 3 bar at idle, and .5 more during acceleration.

my oil pressure one day started working its way down little by little each day to 1.5 bar. then, this morning i start my car and it was a little bit below 2, and it stayed there for a wile. then i look back at my oil pressure a little later in my 10 minute journy when i'm on the highway almost to work, and it's at a hair above 4.

what in the hell? why does the oil pressure jump around like that? i haven't seen it INCREASE, it's only been decreasing.

does the oil pressure sending unit ever get messed up? or maybe it's my gauge?

Also, check the wires going to the oil pressure sending unit. Ive found that the casing can become cracked and ground out sometimes.

How is the oil level? I doubt it is the sender as they usually "peg" the needle to 4-5 bar and stay there. Could be the oil pressure relief valve is hung up. On a sad note......oil pump....Sman

Check the site below...I suggest removing the Oil Pressure Relief Valve Cleaning it up and re-installing it. Worked for me.
