Brake Advise
So, my brake pad lights are starting to come on now from time to time when I start my car signaling my first 944 brakes experience. I've ordered the pads online, but should I:
Replace them myself...is it a fairly easy/hard, fast/slow process? Take em to a brake specialist... ie meineke or something? Take em to my porsche mechanic...I'm guessing the least likely option? edit: BTW, I got my pads from www.*************** - fairly good breaks at fairly low prices

If you have a general understanding of how caliper brakes work and have the necessary tools (can be found here: http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/brake-02.htm), you could do them yourself.
Meineke or some other brake shop usually do a good job and cost really isn't that much (especially since brake pads aren't changed often). Most caliper brakes have the same concept so there really shouldn't be anything that they can do wrong or not know about. I wouldn't recommend going to a Porsche dealer unless you really have money to burn.

i would never take my car to a meineke type place.
changing brake pads is pretty straight forward if you have the tools and what not
