Question dome light on early 944

Last night I got out of my car and when I opened the door the dome light worked fine, then when I got back in it didn't so I messed with my door pin switch and nothing. I went and opened the pass. side door and it still did'nt come on,BUT the one in the hatch area comes on everytime. The only way I can get it to come on is to flip the switch on the light it's self. ALSO, I was getting a little crazy around a corner and got side ways a little and the seat belt light on my console above the stereo cam on breifly, is this normal.(I wasn't wearing it either). Any suggestions on any of these topics? Thanks

I believe on the earlier 944s there is a seatbelt warning relay. Seems sort of crazy, but that is what I recall. Anyway this relay is also tied into the oil pressure indicator. I bet you went low on oil pressure in your violent move which in turn lit your seatbelt light for a second. Those dash warning lights are tied together in unusual ways that you wouldn't think as noted in the thread on resetting the airbag.

Take your dome light out and look at it. The switch and bulb holder is a cheesy affair of bent copper strips. Part of it is probably a bit out of whack. Once you see how it is supposed to work bend it back in alignment any maybe use some sand paper to clean up the contacts.

My seatbelt light goes on all the time, usually when I put my turn signal on...

Yeah, my seatbelt light comes on at random times too. It's usually when i'm doing something aggresive though.

My friends have begun to refer to it as the "oh $hit! he's doing something stupid!!!" light.

I was thinking of replacing the "fasten seatbelts" with a skull and crossbones. That'd really scare 'em!!!
