Will 944 fenders directly swap onto a 924S, if not what kinda mods need to be done. I need the wider fenders because my 17,7.5 inch wheels rub, So I was thinking about swapping the fenders from my parts 944 onto my 924S, I know there will have to be some body work done to make it look clean. Alos how do the rear fenders come off are the welded in??? Thanx

Yes they will fit. No it is not a direct swap. The rocker panels are different. Yes they are welded on and difficult to remove. I just did this on my 931. It would be MUCH, MUCH, easier to get the carrera gt fiberglass rear flares. And probably cheaper if you consider all the labor involved to make the swap. The only reason I went with the 944 rear quarters instead of the flares is I REALLY, REALLY dont care for the fit and finish of fiberglass.

You will also need a new front end valance to match the flare on the fenders as well as the rockers that flare out as Wolf stated. The rear has to be cut around the C pillar to remove rear fenders. Or go with Wolfs idea of GT flares which just cover the oem fenders and are open ended looking from behind. Sman

Who need them stinkin flares anyway? J/K
If you ever plan to autocross/roadrace/PCA DE event, you might want to check their rules first. You might get booted into a class where you are not going to do well...

Absolutely!!! PCA the car can not have any body mods except for the front bumper area. Airdams, FG nose are the only allowed changes provided the new stuff doesn't reduce stock minimum weight. Steel fenders must be used, you can use 944 fenders on a 924 and be legal. Any other fiberglass used is most likely placing the car in GT class.
Just a note for those who consider tracking PCA CR.....Sman
