<944> 1996 911 Carrera Cup Wheels on 87 944?
Gruppe:
I have to replace my tires and a friend has offered me his 1996 911 Cup wheels (these are factory OE wheels not the aftermarket with different offsets, etc.) for cheap-ish. I'd like to upgrade to these as I'm putting in quite a bit of effort into my 944 with paint, etc. Anyway, what is the low down on these? Can I fit them w/o spacers? Do they fit nicely in the wheel wells so that they are flush with the fenders and don't stick out ricily? I know this has been discussed before, I could not find a good answer in my research. Thanks for responses and double thanks for those who've responded many times before. This weekend I'm refinishing my phone dials (to be for sale if the cups work out) and putting in the last bit of body work (minor dents) before I spray the car. Neil Deshpande

I think they will fit fine. The rear tires may come close to the fender but most people who have used them that i know of dont complain of rubbing. I know the cup wheels off my dad's 95' work so those should fit

Gruppe:
I put the Carrera Cup 2 wheels on the 944 today. A good fit. The rears could have come out a bit more to sit exactly flush with the rear quarters, but the front and rear insets are nearly similar and it looks quite acceptable. Having 17" wheels in very nice indeed, both handling and aesthetics are improved. Thanks! Neil Deshpande
