Am I missing something here?

My front side marker is kind of "floppy" on the right side i.e. doesn't really seat very well....really loose. When I pulled the one on the drivers side it was tight and seemed to have the remnants of a gasket or something that held it in....

What gives?

Can a new seal be purchased without buying the whole light?

Or, do I just make one...

Or, was nothing there in the first place...

You are missing a seal that is unfortunately, not available as a seperate piece.

You could fashon one out of some rubber without too much difficulty.

You could be missing a few of the knurled nuts that hold the light in as well - there are two per light. If yours are gone, you can just use a M5 nut with a large washer.

You can make the o-ring seals. Buy a length of the proper diameter stock and cut it to length then glue the ends together.

I'll check with the local seal shop for cost if someone can measure a seal for me. Need OD and over all length.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

Yeh, I've got the knurled nuts still in place,..that was the confusing part. The seal was so bad that the R was totally gone and the left looked like dirt or wax buildup.....Def. not a seal.

You could probably "heat seal" the ends together with a lighter.

Looks like fabrication time.

I'll probably make it out of the same rubber I made my timing belt with.

No you don't heat seal butrate rubber. You glue it.

I'll try to get out to the garage and see if I have any of these o-ring seals to measure.
