Trust me....I went to a junkyard and saw three cars with the hood latches; all dead! When I took mine off, I could close and open with a finger! They HAD to be the originals....and $44 does seem high, but I only bought them because they came with a LIFETIME WARRANTY, and if you're like me, you can expect to go back for a new one after about a year
![]() But, since you are not at the counter and frustrated beyond means, call several places first and check prices; Discount Auto, O'Reilly's, etc.....and get the cheapest...as long as it has lifetime warranty, you can't go wrong....they take all of two minutes to change, too! AutoZone, however, was out of stock for the the hatch shocks...good thing, cuz I would have bought those on the spot, too!

$15 a piece, its not for a set, and ide rather just spend the extra $14 and not pay shipping, and get it today.

THose kinds of parts are best bought new. What guarantee you have that used ones will be any better? My wife has a saying..It is not how much you pay for something, it is how often you wind up paying it. In other words, cheap is never better than quality. Would you put on a used timing belt?

Struts like the ones on the hatch or the hood are really not long-lasting items either, especially if you live somewhere that has heat/cold transitions, the seals swell and shrink and start to lose function. Buy new ones, you'll be glad of it. (Or just do what I do and carry one of those "end stick thingys" from a croquet set around with you to use as a hood prop. Haha) Aaron
