NA is normally aspirated, doesn't have a turbo, etc..

The interior is the easiest way to tell, the 85.5 and later have the more modern interior.

They didn't tell you what year it was when you bought it?

n/a is naturally aspirated, basically the car is non-turbocharged.

85.5 have the modern 928ish interior, flush mounted windshield and aluminum suspension. 83-85 have the 924 interior with three round dials in the gauge cluster

When was the last time the timing and balance belts were changed?

What happened to your 924 project?

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

An external antenna vs. a windshield antenna is another easy way to tell the difference.

Mines an early 85. ( yeah it's got all the old crap )

DMV says its an 85

Sticker inside engine compartment says " Manufactured in 84 "

So, I wonder... Did they stop the production in 84 and swiched in late 85... selling the last 84's in early 85 as " 1985 models "

hmmmmm

Don

oh, what really sucks is that the guy I bought it from said it was an 86.. so I researched and was relieved to find that it was the newer style... till I saw the antenna.

I love it anyway

all right, here's the deal on the pic, because of my limited ability to properly navigate my way around this site i put the pic under the owners gallery where i could never get my 924 pics to upload. it is hard to see the hood but it is solid (the stripes) halfway and then segments into smaller seperate pieces. about 12" from the headlight it says porsche 944 (cut into the graphics) if i can figure out how to get a better shot of it i will post it. it is an 85.5, all new style interior.
