My door wont open anymore

My driver's door won't open anymore. No matter how hard I pull the door trigger or the inside door handle, the fu**ing door won't open. Now how the hell am I to at least fix the problem if the door won't open? I cant even remove the door panel since the door is closed. Is there a trick to somehow get this piece of **** door to open from the outside?

Think you have to pull the drivers seat to get the panel off. Still going to be a pain.

The outside handle and inside handle connect seperately to the door latch assembly. There is also a anti theft plate over the area. I'll have to check the extra doors I have for a better response.

I get the same impression that the latch is hung up on something.

If the handle levers have no "feel" to them, it sounds like the lock assembly is stuck. Try taking out the drivers seat and pull the molding around the sill and pillars. That may give room to pull the panel. Check the lock connecting rods to the latch assembly.

Door handle won't open

I had this happen to me about 6 months ago, luckily the passenger door. By the way, you CAN'T get the door panel off when the door is closed no matter what anyone tells you. Gotta love German engineering.

After much trying, my Porsche mech was kind enough to help.

1 -Try to get a drawing of the inside of the door. You'll have to see how the pieces work (or take the other door panel off, that's what I did).
2 - Get a long (12 - 16") thin screwdriver
3 - Have a friend gently pull the window towards the inside of the car.
4 - Slide the screwdriver down near the door handle between the window and the outer door panel.
5 - The problem is that the mechanism is in the half way position, between closed and open. you can use the screwdriver to slip it back into the closed position. You'll need a good flashlight or one with a flex shaft.

Be patient. Did I say 'be patient'? Look at the other door and you'll see how it works. Took my mechanic many tries

Good luck, don't give up.

I have opened a few "stuck" junkyard doors that way.

Last 944 I saw was stuck and had no exterior handle. I used a peice of coat hanger that I keep in my toolkit for the job.

Oh, yes..I was able to open the lock basicaly by brute force. Once I got it open, I sprayed degreaser then WD40 inside the lock mechanism. Then greased the moving parts and the latch. It now opens all the time with better feedback.. Geesh..I have never owned a car before that needed the door mechanism to be maintanied like that.

It's just starting. You have no idea what will need fixing next.

Hows the new house?
