951 receiver hitch
Does anyone know where I can find a receiver hitch (1 or 1.5 inch) that will mount on the back of a 951? I am trying to find a way to transport an extra set of wheels to the track.

Buy a Cayenne and get a wife. Then throw the tires in the Cayenne and have the wife follow you to the track.

I just bought one from a fellow rennlister for my 944S. It's a class II receiver hitch. I don't know if the rear bumpers are the same.
I have'nt installed it yet. Its a really basic, straight forward design. You could easily fabricate a duplicate from a 4 foot piece of 2" square tubing, four feet of 2x1/4 flat bar, two large U-bolts, and 6" of 1.5(1-1/4 id) tube steel or a Walmart class II bumper hitch No custom bending or special jigs. just straight cuts and welding. email me and I'll send you some photos and maybe you can build one.

uhmmmm its actually quite common if you are a weekend racer. Porsche should make it an option on all their cars.

Porsche made a hitch for a 944. I have seen two on ebay over the past year, so there are some aroung. I decided to build a hitch form my car. In doing the research I discovered that a lot of x racers have put a hitch on there car and bought a small 4x4 trailer to tow there wheels and tool boxes to the events. I would not bolt a hitch through the bumper and to the back of the wheel well as most do. Porsche suspends the hitch receiver bar from the bumper shocks and attaches to the side of the frame rails.
