Help! Tach problem

My Tach and MPG gauge stopped working. All the other gauges work fine. I checked all the fuses, and they are fine. The car is an '86 N/A. Any suggestions?

Take the guage cluster out and look at the back, sometimesa mounting screww may have come loose or a wire disconnected.

Another place you could check is the ground bus under the dash. A number of circuts are grounded at that one point. The bus is on the firewall high behind the glove box. You don't have to remove the glove box or dash to get at it but it is a tight fit. If your battery box has been leaking at any time, these connections may have gotten corroded. It was a part of a similar problem I had with all of my gauges out, compounded by the intermittent failure of a relay.
