What to look out for with a 951

I am considering buying a 1988 951, is there anything in particular I should be looking at before bothering with the PPI? It has 104,000 miles on it and reportedly needs a clutch. I understand that this is a big job (AllData writes 19.5 hours for it) but even considering that expense its a pretty good deal. I don't know a whole lot about the wate cooled P's that's why I'm asking all of you!
