Heated seat switch not working.
Guys,
Does anyone have any instructions in how to remove and fix the headed switch button? It only works if I keep it pressed down. Thanks, Guillaume

You might as well get a new switch, it sounds like the latch mechanism has gone. I don't know how easy parts are in Bahrain though.... try a VW parts place if it helps, most bits in 944s come from VW/Audi...
Hang on a minute, it doesn't get much below 12 degrees Centigrade all year round in Bahrain, why do you need heated seats? You shouldn't use seats for cooking you know, makes a terrible mess!

During about 2 month, I can get very cold at night and even colder in the desert.(believed or not it can almost freeze ) Heated seat are a nice bonus on the Long drive to Riyadh..
But it is a bit of a pain having to keep a finger on it for like four hours…. In terms of taking the switch out, and replacing it might be problem, as I tried to but it is not attached to a connector, rather the wires for the heat and seat arrangements seem to be directly attached. I was kind of hoping not to have to cut any cables…….. Regards, Guillaume

IF.... it is anything like the other 944 switches (i don't have heated seats and it's about -6 here today because it's sunny) you will find that it splits into two pieces, one being a plug (part of the switch bit) and the other being a socket (with wires coming out the other end). To seperate them, there should be on the top and bottom, little catches that you can lift, carefully and all at the same time at which point you can pull the plug away from the socket. It's fiddly, and it's a nightmare but it is possible.
If you have a passenger heated seat you could just swap the fronts of the switches, passengers don't drive so they can hold it in until you sort out something more permanent. Yes, I forgot about desert nights, used to live in Egypt (near Aswan). You do need heated everything!! Refresh my memory, are the switches mounted into the centre console? I may have a schematic diagram....

Don’t I wish.
The switch is mounted to the side of the seat Driver Seat has it to the left , right next to the electric seat adjuster. Passenger Seat has it to the right, right next to the electric seat adjuster. And yes both switches have the same problem…. Guillaume

IN that case it could be a relay switch.
I'm afraid I don't know much about this particular switch as I dont have one. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of this either. Does the switch latch or does it just come out again when you let go? It's possible that it's just worn out...
