Assume both cars are stock.... also assume that it is a zero to top speed race.
-oliver P.s. what is the top speed of a 944S? |

The 928 is faster, but not to top speed. For a variety of reasons, top speed is claimed lower than the 951 (143mph vs 152). 0-60 in 5.9 vs 6.1, using Porsche's claims. Looks about right given gearing/power/weight differences.
944S top speed claimed at 142mph. ------------------ '86 951 Graphite Metallic/Tan |

Both are very quick from 50 on. If you're thinking of buying one or the other, some of the 928 models have already begun to take on collector status, parts are more expensive and less plentiful. The 951 is somewhat more common, parts are easier to find and according to some sources, starting to rise a bit in value. Pays your money and makes yer choice.
