Hi. I have a problem with my '85 944. The other day I was getting in my car
ready to go to work. I sit down and try to start. It won't start. It will turn over all day long, but won't start. I didn't have time to mess with it then. I get home from work and immediately try to start it. It starts after about 3 tries. So I thought nothing of it and went inside. A couple hours later I try to go get something to eat. It starts after a couple tries. I get about 5 feet and then it just dies. No noises or knocking - just dies. I haven't been able to get it started since. A friend of mine looked at it. He said its not firing at all. We replaced the coil and that wasn't the problem? Any suggestions? Some of the other threads point to maybe a DME relay. What is this and where is it located? Or could it be the distributor cap??? Please help an uneducated Porsche owner. ------------------ Chad B. |

Fuel Pump relay .. I think it is number II on the main relay board ... cost $20 or so ..
It is know to commonly fail ... I had the same exact problem ... and once you swap relays ... voila ... E |
