Post My 944

Heh.. i moved back here to missouri, got kicked out because i bought the red 944 from my dad, and my mom didnt want me driving it back...... but yeah its a 85.5 auto(urgh) i just got the exhaust fixed, and am changing to oil cooler on it, is that what would cause it to leak the coolant into the oil? or would it be something else, the smoke is clear... thanks

That would be the oil cooler ... good luck.
I didn't have much luck doing it without removing both the exhaust headers and the PS pump just to get to all the stupid bolts ..

get the kit from PAP parts online, cheapest source and good service ...

Hey Rollins,
Nice chassis! I think you've outdone Eurospec in the provocative signature department. Is that a Porsche press photo? (ha, ha!)

congrats on the new car.

You are right on track with the oil cooler causing the oil/coolant mixing. Try to not drive it too much before you get this fixed as it will cause damage to your crank and bearings. Also, it may take a few coolant flushings to get all of the oil out of the coolent passeges in the block but dont worry about it too much. Be sure to run a good brand of anti-freeze.

Rollins....I like it....Thats just a little racier than Eurospec....looks good....try and make it bigger.....

Don't drive the car....flush it all....its hard getting all the oil out of the coolant lines......search for it here....there are a couple of examples of how to try and flush it all out......

Its true about the coolant affecting the bearings........its so subtle.....but metal does not like to rust!.....

ok, here is an update, i knocked out my cat, had the exhaust leaks welded... and the headers were cracked so i have good ones from another engine...... now, I am stuck at the powersteering pump, although it looks like it doesnt need to come off since i took the bolts off of the oil cooler housing already... what i need to know is what is it that causes these to leak? because i have a oil cooler from my other engine, with the o-rings intact and everything... would it fix it if i just put those on? or should i buy a seal kit?, what does a seal kit consist of? and anyone have late model glass windshields for sale? because mine is cracked.... hmm... that pretty much summs it up for now, thanks in advance
