I'm repeating this post; see if anyone has some ideas.
Trying to get my sunroof to work; accidently got a 85.5 switch instead of early. Nothing happens. Are early vs late switches different electrically? Later is smaller On a related note; anyone want to swap an early for late switch? thanks

I'm having the same problem. I have gotten 4 late switches. 2 that I purchased, being told that they were for the early car, and 2 from cars that I have parted out. On my 84, I can get the roof to raise and lower, but I can't get it to release. I can jump across 2 of the pins on the plug, and it will release with the key in the on position. Tweeks and Vertex both show switches for the early cars in there catalog. I think I will just have to break down and order one.

you know; I think Porsche used VW's rejected switches in '44.
guess I'll have to puchase an early switch also; just to be sure.

I'll check but I might have one that I don't need. This is the one that mounts in the console by the shifter, right?

Buddy,
That's right; it's on driver's side of flat spot of console, in front. If you have an early switch you can give me; I'll give you my later one. The early switch is bigger than later thanks!

Repoman:
Sorry. I thought I had a spare but looking through my extra switches I don't find one. You probably know this already but Tweeks sells them, and I believe Perf. Prod. does too. You may want to try some ebay sellers like "Tekamah". I've done business with him before, both on ebay and in person and he's a Porsche wrecker so he's probably got one for sure. Good luck! |
