Really?12s??wow
Shaun how much power should i give those? Pheonix gold is what was powering the subs before, any idea where i can get good prices on some gold amps? |
i was thinking of doing the same, what are good brands of amps?
|
what model are they and what is the RMS wattage?
i am thinking 250 each. SHAUN |
if you come across any amps but the brand "DHD" get it for sure. they are GREAT amps and have a REALLY clean sound to them.

i use an a/d/s 450 powerplate for a/d/s 6.5in seperates in the front and a macintosh mc427 bridged to a jl 10w6. i was using a boston asoustic pro 10 but the box is to heavy. that huge box will really slow you down. subs that take less than .5 cubic feet are a good choice. another thing - besides slowing you down, a speaker box will kill you in a head on collision. remember to fasten it all down...if you are getting that much water, maybe you need a hatch seal, hatch alignment or the little sunroof drain is laying in there. it should be poked out the bottom. vertex had the best deal when i had to buy a hatch seal.

naaaaah.... before i got into porsches my main hobby was installing this kinda thing in cars.... Kenwood amps - not really good...
Alpine V12 amps are really good from personal experience - and powerful too... Stay away from rockford if you want sound quality rather than quantity.... Infinity are really good for qood quality stuff - their perfect range is... well almost perfect.... I used to have 2 x infinity perfect 12" subs.. with a 1500 watt alpine 1507 amp... and DAMN was it loud..... and it sounded good too.... http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/wink.gif |
I was thinking about the pheonix gold xs2500. Or if i go rockford then maybe the punch 6500.2
|
infinity is a GREAT brand. i got references chilling all over the inside of my car. BUT what you said about kenwood isnt true. Kenwood makes GREAT amps that last a long time and have great quality.
the Alpine V12 series would be good to drive the Rockfords but PERSONALLY i would go with something cleaner than the v12. SHAUN |
like what, shaun?
