The WYAIT clutch job was worth it after all

It was making some noise and I suspected it was just the thrust bearing....right & WRONG!

Check out the clutch.....

Jeff:

Excellent timing as mentioned!!

Most are not so lucky as you.

I'm sure you already know this, but if not...purchase the spring centered clutch for the next 100K miles.

Have fun.

Yeah, just in time! Funny no evidence of any chunks of rubber. I'd say it's been like this for a while.

Spring centered clutch is ready to go back in.

Right now I'm fighting with the pilot bearing. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning and planning to do the RMS also. Flywheel is off to the shop for machining.

Cheers,

Don't forget to get the MOS2 grease.

Oh and you can get it at a local honda motorsport/bike shop Its called Honda Moly 60 paste comes in a small tube for about 10$ Easy to fine and containes 60% molly which i believe has more moly then the factory recomended stuff.

I've been using it on alot of non lubricated metal to metal parts. Made my clutch as smooth as butter.

Cheers,
Slidehammer with a claw attachement really works well for me. Just fit one of the claws in back of the bearing and give a couple taps and presto chango, it's out.

I think i used a Cv axle bolt with some vice grips. put the head of the bolt in, grabbed the inside lip and it came right now. Oh and soaked it with pb blaster of corse. I did try the wet paper and socket trick but that didnt' work out for me.
