Post Hot Start

http://www.924.org/techsection/hot_start_problem_fix.htm

does the late model 944 have a cold start valve? i have a hot start problem and this is said to be a possible solution. the author made the article WAY to complicated. all it means is:

find the wire going to the cold start valve thats red and ground it, then put a jumper button in between.

SO, does the 944 have this option or not?

Hot start problems are usually the check valve in the fuel pump. I read that in a tech tip somewhere.

944's don't have a cold start valve. The extra fuel required to run when cold is set by the computer which increases the injector dwell.

If you have a cold start problem the first thing to do is correctly diagnose it.
Check all the maintenance items.
Check fuel pressure.
Check the ignition system.
Replace the DME relay if more than five years old.
Check all the grounds, vacuum lines and intake gaskets.
Fisrt check: make sure the air intake hose clamp is tight on the air flow sensor..
(you would be suprised.....)

What EXACTLY happens when you crank the engine?
