Porsche 944 Engine For Sale

Im selling the engine out of the parts 944 I have. its from a 1985 944. Its a 2.5L 4cycl. engine looks ok and it did run. I am unable to run it now because all the fuses and relays are missing from the car. The engine has approx 195,000 miles on it. asking $1,200 for the engine + shipping and handling. If your in the near by area you can come and check it out. Engine is still in car so I will need time to remove it once someone is intrested. Any questions just PM me or E-mail me. Thanx

If you can run the starter, you should post some compression and leak-down numbers, if they are good, it will help you get more money for it.

$1200????
You can buy a broken tranny 944 with a running engine for $500....our local auto wrecking yard was throwing 944 engines away last year.....

Hey Britwrench!
Good way to kill a post, but you speak the TRUTH!!

fast924S 01-06-2004 04:52 PM

U dont like it u dont buy it. Or you can try to get the price down

fast924S 01-06-2004 04:59 PM

Plus its a full motor, injetors, throttle body, alt, p/s pump

Bought an entire 86 auto with custom rims for $500. Had an engine fire. Just burned off the plastic and hoses. Less than 130k on the engine.

Cost me $40 to get it home (shipping).

Yep, that's typical. One of our guys got a running 1984 944 with a broken tranny for around $300. Real nice car, even the front spoiler wasn't trashed. Our local wrecking yard has a line up of broken timing belt 944s of various years for less than a $1000 each.

Anyone know of a good wrecking yard in the Philly area?

fast924S 01-07-2004 02:19 PM

ok then asking 800 for the motor

ronin 01-07-2004 02:26 PM

LOL :D

Britwrench 01-07-2004 06:13 PM

Ok, who wants to guess what it actually sells for??

I'm thinking like $250 at the most.

I just sold a complete motor with 134000 miles on it, less than 2% leakdown (it was MY motor) with everything including headers and complete intake\injection system with crossmember for $500 +shipping.

Britwrench and Ronin, who's the wrecking yard you're referring to? Thanks!
