Around fuel level sending unit...
Is the black stuff around my fuel level sending unit a coating Porsche put it in, or is it really thick build up of dirt/oil. (the top of my fuel sender unit had to be cleaned quite badly)

My guess is for the dirt and crud, I just pulled my sending unit to fix a stuck float and the top of the tank was very clean, saw nothing like you describe.

i wanted a new avatar, and this one just seemed original. i don't know what that big pink area around the back of his head is thouh, i'm guessing an ear?
