EGT install

How hard and what is involved in installing a EGT gauge. How much do kits go for? where in the exhaust is th best place to install the sensor?

The kits are around 100-300 bucks.... depending on what you get...

In an ideal situation you would have 4 egt's to monitor all 4 cylinders....but on the turbos #4 seems to be the most common spot.

NOrmally as close to the exhaust side on the head as possible.

Two inches away would do the trick. You drill a bung into your header.....

On a turbo you will see ~1500F at WOT. I am not sure what an NA would register to be honest?

Are you wanting to set your fuel mixture manually or something?
I'm clueless.

fast924s, have you gotten your tranny fixed yet? It's been broke for quite some time now if I remember correctly....several months? Just curious.

Its been broken for almost a year now. But in the past couple of weeks I have gotten a parts 944 and I am currently in the process of installing the tranny, its 89% installed, I just keep running out of time or I have to go do something else. Also I have some bugs I need to work on, First is find out what to do about my 17/7.5 inch wheels... they rub so Im thinking about doing a GT conversion. The rest is just little BS stuff.

As for the EGT sensor, I just wanted to know how it was done, Also I might use this idea when I install a nitrous kit but not sure yet
