I recently purchased a set of the workshop manuels for my 86 951 and was very disapointed. I know they can not cover ever little thing but I was suprised that in vol 1 (engine) I found terrible mistakes such as a table of contents that dosen't match the pages and parts diagrams with parts numbered and no corrisponding explination of the parts or installation tips. Also lists of parts by number and no corrisponding numbered picure. Also the pages skip around page 13-37 then 13-44 for example. Finally I can find no information on assembly instuctions for the crankcase. No explenation of were loctite should be used or assembly lube etc. Is this normal for these books or is something a miss? Thanks

you know what? mine are like that as well, and the COPY is terrible. I have an ORIGINAL 951 supplement, so I know that the poor images in my 944 books are not normal.

If I am not mistaken, those books went thru updates and as the updates were added, the table of contents changed and the old pages were to be discarded. You may have gotten a set that were only partially updated. Maybe someone else on this BBS has a solution for you.
