heater valve leaking will kill the clutch?

My friend told me that a coolant leaking from the heater valve will eventually cause severe damage to the clutch. Has anyone heard anything like this before?

Thanks.

It sure will! Not only that but it makes getting the bellhousing bolts out after that a real pain in the ass!
