windshield wiper delay test?
 

My 1984 944 windshield wiper got stuck in delay mode in the last rain storm. So I pulled the relay to solve the problem. Now the windshield wiper works only in fast/slow mode and will not return to the down position automatically.
Is there some easy way to test the relay or am I doomed to having to remove the steering wheel to replace the switch?

Borrow another relay and try it to see what happens.

It could be the relay... but it could also be the contact(s) in the stalk switch on the steering wheel.

my '90 S2 started doing a similiar problem. In the low position the wipers either go very very slow, or they don't work at all, med and high work fine. I hope the problem is the relay.
