Wierd problems after being hit, help!!!

Its been a while now :)
I was hit about a month ago in my right front fender. It only damaged the fender and ripped the bottom bolt out of the strut housing. I welded that back up and to my amazement, the right front wheel is pointing outwards ALOT. Almost like the tie rod end was unscrewed when i was hit. Is it possible it "skipped" a gear or ball inside the steering rack and popped it out a little bit? Ive never personally taken apart the steering rack so i dont know what it looks like inside. And as far as i can tell everything looks great-control arm, ball joint, the steering knucle where the strut housing bolts to. Any ideas, thanks for your time

Sounds like something is bent. Or has moved in the adjuster sleeve. If it "skipped" inside the rack, then the rack is broken internally.

did you get it realigned?

Things are bent. Anytime you have weld something back up there is far more to the problem.

whats wierd is that the right front wheel looks like its sitting perfectly in there and just pointing a little outward like im turning right, its not like towards the rear of the wheel it is pushed in which caused the front to point out, it all looks perfect. And by the way it is like this without the strut housing on there. Is it possible that where the control arm mounts to the frame it bent which caused it to go out? I think i will measure the tie rod length from the rack to the rod end when the left wheel is facing forward correctly. Im stumped. I will measure alot of different parts in the suspension on the good side and then the bad and compare....

and i havent re-aligned it, i want to replace whats broken first then re-align it. Im wondering if screwing the tie rod end in will fix it? I Know its not the same and is wrong, but thats exactly what appears is the problem and would fix it, but i want to know how it got like that.....

i nailed a guard rail on my drivers side at 40mph, when 1 wheel was strait the other pointed out as though it was being turned. alighment job straighted it right out the way it should be.

thats exactly how mine looks and appears is the only problem, i just am wondering why its pointing out, how it happened.
