mass flow sensor

Has anyone spent the $500 on conversion to the "hotwire" massflow sensor Vs the vein type? Was there a significant difference?

Some on the turbos. None on the "regular" 944's.

thanks, if you suspected the factory unit was faulty would you go with the newer design?

...Huntley racing used to have MAFs for NA.

Uhmmmm you should be able to pick up a used AFS. I am assuming you have tested it...... If you feel adventurous you can pry the plastic cover from the top. Its interesting to see how they wear. Its a mechanical device and the contacts do wear.....

I would remove the cover and see if the wipers can be moved. Fixes most AFS related problems. Lot's cheaper than a MAS.

never been inside the airbox, my mechanic checked it, but he may not know as much about the box as you seem to, my repair manual has no info on the internals. SoCal, when you say move the wipers are they like points riding on an internal cam? Do you bend them up or down to a clean track site?
