Pelican Parts New product available from Pelican!

Hi all,

I've recently begun the expansion of our Porsche catalog to include the more desirable aftermarket parts and accessories for the 944. One of the great new products that we now offer is Tarett Engineering’s Fully Adjustable Hollow Sway Bar.

From time to time, I'll be featuring more of the new products that we offer. If you have questions, please feel free too send me an email. As always, your comments, suggestions, and feedback are always welcome. Thanks!

How do they compare to the Weltmeister sway bars? Are the ends of the front sway bar splined? How does the red component attach to the bar? Is it just a round bar that is clamped using a hex bolt? What is the chance of the square ends of the rear bar rounding off or the plate that attaches to it. I'm curious because I am thinking of upgrading in spring.

Yes, as you suspected the ends of the front swaybar are splined as well as a matching internal spline on the red arms that slide on to it. They are precision machined so that the two arms are accurately phased to each other when installed. The rear bars have square ends that fit tightly into a matching square hole in the arms. The fit is very precise, at less that .001” clearance, and there is no chance of the bar end or arm hole getting deformed and failing. The pinch bolt clamps the arm securely to the end of the bar. We’ve built hundreds of these bars over the last eight years with no problems.

Thanks for anwering my question. I thought about it all day at work. I have worked with clamps at work that were similar but without the splines. They don't hold very well because they end up just rotating on the shaft. I am glad to hear yours are splined. What other suspension components do they match up well with to create a winning combination? Such as springs, shocks, bushings? What spring rate with what brand shock? Again thanks for answering my questions

Aw man I just read the fine print. Only for 85 or newer. Being a '83 I just can't have fun like the rest of you

The key issue is if you have steel front arms that come on the earlier 944’s. I intentionally didn’t design brackets to connect to them because I was concerned they would break from the extra load of a stiffer swaybar. If you’ve upgraded to the factory alloy arms or Charlie arms, the Tarett bars will work on your car.
