944 Air Intake
I was thinking about installing a better air intake on my 87 944 n/a. I was really looking at the one a vetrex called the VTX power inhaler. Has anyone used one or installed one? If so how hard are they and are they worth it?

Do a search on pelican for "cone intake" and you will find that basically No...it pretty much won't be worth it.

The vortex thing you saw on tv...its crap. Since the intake curves a lot...the "tornado" effect yields no benefits. Waste of money...

"Vertex" is a parts company. The VTX is a cone filter assembly they sell...

I would love it if someone made an air intake boot out of aluminum OR carbon fiber. It would last forever, & totally eliminate tiny leaks.

If I where you go look for a nice MAF conversion kit/intake, Get rid of the crappy AFM and free up some air and get some extra HP

here's your ultimate intake system.
before racing the honda civic next to you, simply pop the hood, pump the inhaler system once or twice, hold your breath, and watch the horsepower increase by 100-150, better than nitrous!
