2.5 Length

DOes anyone know what the exact length of a 2.5 motor is. From the end of the block(flywheel) to the opposite end of the distributor cap

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

Asking if you should replace that timing belt is like asking if you should re-use a condom that may have in hole in it with a hooker.

Since you asked...I do have a donor 944 and a couple of 914's laying around...just though there might be room in the teener for a 2.5 watercooled...seeing as I already have most of the parts...

If by that you mean a 914/6, I would really question how the oiling and such would work when it is mounted sideways?

Ferrari factory driver once said a 914 with S2 engine and 911 suspension was the 'perfect car' :P

Wow, what a bitter fellow.
All I asked was about the oiling when you mount an engine sideways, and that I wanted to know the length as well.
And I get a FU.
Hmm. That seems appropriate.

Last time I checked this forum was designed for the POLITE exchange of ideas.
Well, it is very rare I wish a timing belt failure on somebody....

LOL true is that. (like me english?? =)
Rennlist sure attracts the grumpy newbies.
It also has a few sarcastic know-it-all's. That's why I like pelican. You can be sure people will try to help, and not be too rude about it.

Well, here you have to make it through your first stupid post.

If you ride it out we'll be best of friends (well, most of the time)

I got a newbie post of my own on the Suzuki forum....really dead place...could be days before they flame me.

Give us a link. We can speed that up!

I don't think his question was dumb. He farted us away before I could get a tape around the engine in the garage.

I've often looked at the way the trans is and though how nice a V-8 Chevy would look bolted to it rather than the torq tube. NOT in a 944 of course.

i am watching "zulu" on t.v......kind of like driving when you do not know when your belt was changed. had a friend drop one on a turbo last week.

he showed it to me running last week when he brought me a part to fix my belt "problem".
