Post Spark Plugs Too Hot

i pulled the #1 spark plug today and i noticed that there was NO OIL or anything around the hole (good) but the spark plug electrode was white as if it had been burnt.. i think i am running to lean cause the plugs seem to be getting too hot. i am running Bosche +4's.. could that be the reason?

thanks,
SHAUN

another question would be are you using an aftermarket DME chip? they advance the timing and might require a different plug from stock. Plugs like that can be caused by over-advanced ignition timing, lean fuel mix, intake manifold leaks, sticking valves or running the engine too hot cause the cooling system is malfunctioning. If it's one cylinder, it could be a sticking valve or a leak in it's intake runner. If it's all the plugs, you have to look at the other possibilities. That's outta the Hayne's book btw.

Shaun,
White electrode could be detonation or glazing. Don't adjust anything until you check all the plugs and get a grip on what actually happening. It could be any thing at this point.
