Question on wheel bearing replacement

Have a 1983 944.
I have to replace the rear bearings.
I needed some help on the tech tips to do this job.
Also, I think will do the front bearings.

Rear bearings just fall out compared to the front bearings. Well, front outer bearing races that is. Should use a puller on the front with the proper collets. You can drive them out but you have to be darn careful to NOT nick the bore the races seat in. Never replace just the bearings and inner races on the fronts.

The Haynes manual does a decent job of instruction.

Check out and for more info. Yes the bearings on the early 944's are the same as the 924's.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?
