Vacuum lines

I don't know if i'm having any loss of vacuum at my vacuum lines, but i want to just replace them for good measure that way i know when they were replaced, and i know they are good.

this is a dumb question, but can i just buy the tubing at autozone? and what do i do if i want to "mold" to tubing, use a heat gun and bend it?

These cars seem intensely sensitive to even small changes in vaccum. . . I recently had a really rough running engine due to a hairline crack in the Y-splitter / vaccum manifold thingy that sits just next to the fuel rail and serves the fuel regulator & dampener. That's all it took. As a temporary fix, I did exactly what you mentioned - just got some American 5/16 hose and tapped it onto the two devices - voila!

The old manifold (plastic) had deteriorated due to age / heat and developed a hairline crack at one of the "T" junctions. For now the aftermarket hose works great. I'll end up replacing the original part but that's more of a matter of personal desire for authenticity rather than functionality. I think you'd be absolutely fine with aftermarket vaccum hose. I wouldn't even bother trying to bend - just get elbows - they're cheap enough if you're going the "el cheapo" route. Good luck.
